Educational Background: Graduate of Morehead State University; Elementary Teaching Degree K-6; with a component in Art, BA Education/5th Yr Grade Levels/Job Description:  Each school year, I look forward to teaching my students while they gain self-confidence, feeling secure and academic success throughout the year. Expectations from students: Students are to follow all school and classroom rules.  Students will use all classroom/school/personal materials in a responsible manner. Each child will be accountable for completing assignments in/out of class in a timely manner to the best of their ability. Students are encouraged to have fun as they prepare for the future. About me: I grew up in Lewis County and have remained here my entire life. My parents are the late Roscoe and Norma Bevins. I am the 5thchild of nine. I am married and have one child. I started working at age 18 at Baker’s Dept. Store in Vanceburg. After winning $10,000 from playing the lottery, I started college at the age of 28. Upon completing college, I had my only child, Madisen. Before and after she was born, I was a substitute teacher for two years, then was hired mid-year of 95-96 school year to  teach 6th grade at LCCE. Later, I began teaching art at three elementary schools (LCCE, LES, and GES), then was assigned to GES, where I have remained. Since being at GES, I have taught Visual Art, Drama, and Gifted and Talented, in addition to various intervention classes along with coordinating several of our annual Festivals and Christmas Programs. More recently  I have taught 3rd and 4th grade Math, Science, Social Studies, and Math RTI.   GES is a place I hold dear to my heart. I love the school atmosphere, the students, and staff. It is a great place to be and help be a part of student success.
